The Prez Comes to Visit

H-bomb had quite the privilege this week (some would disagree with me). He and his buddy, Erik, and Erik's mom spent the night last Sunday camping out so they could see President Obama speak this week in Mesa. I thought this interesting since H-Bomb is about as right-wing as you can get. He admitted he thought he would be able to turn around and make some quick money scalping the ticket, but was disappointed to discover that it was a federal offense (plus the Feds had his name and address now!). But after all was said and done, he said it was pretty exciting to be so close to the President of the United States, no matter what party he is from. I also asked him for his reaction to Obama's speech and he said that it sounded like a great plan, but wondered how the government would be able to determine who would qualify for the mortgage assistance and who would not. H-Bomb continues to impress me with his interest in politics. He is maturing as he is starting to consider more than just one side of an issue and coming to his own conclusions. I am proud of him for that. Hayden and Erik

Way to go Hayden for having the drive to make this happen for yourself. It is something you will always remember and will be able to tell your children and grandchildren.

I remember Cody saying something like that after he heard Obama speak during the primary race.

Yeah....pretty memorable. That is cool. Not everyone can say they saw the sitting president in person. Good for Hayden. Even if he did have to sell his soul! ;)
