Lappy Appy Part II

It is so nice to report that my recovery from the appendectomy was textbook. The nurse who discharged me was so careful in describing how to take care of my steri-strips covering the holes in my gut. You know the drill...don't get them too wet; trim the ends if they start to peel. But whatever you do, don't remove them. Because of my trip to UT, I had to have my follow up visit early (day 9 instead of the the usual day 14). So it was a surprise, to say the least, when the surgeon RIPPED them off my body and gave me another bikini wax. He was pretty proud that his surgery wasn't going to leave any visible scars. I didn't have the heart to tell him that my bikini days are long over. (I would think that was pretty obvious looking at me and my middle-aged figure).

On a another and more fun note, we are in UT visiting Andrea and her family. It is sooooooo nice to be out of the heat! Connor and his friend, Jake, are at BYU lacrosse camp and sounds like they are having a good time. Riley has been good enough to keep me informed through her text messaging with them. They actually went to a dance last night and even danced a few times. Who knew!

Andrea, Cali and I went to the "evil" store yesterday (Taipan Trading Co.). It is "evil" because it casts a spell over you and makes you think you have unlimited funds to buy the whole store out. The last time I went, I almost didn't have enough room in the Explorer to take it all home. But this time I was prepared. Since I am an evil witch myself (ask my boys!), I was able to use a counter spell and walked out with only a bag of popcorn and some fireworks. Andrea was duly impressed.

so glad to hear that you are healing so nicely. And don't rub it in about the heat...its a killer. :)

Wow! This is the cutest stinking background and topper!!!! How did you do it?! ;)

Glad that we didn't have to wait too long for part 2....have LOVED having you visit, even though having all the littles around didn't make for lots of fun and outings. Oh well, we saved money though. I still can't believe your restraint at Taipan. Gold star for you.

How come no one ever tells us these things? I am so glad to hear you are OK and doing well. See you next week!
