Connor Update and Other News

Sorry for taking so long to update, but we really didn't know what was going on with Connor until we got the blood tests and saw the pediatric pulmonologist. So here is what I know. The blood tests came back negative for cocci (Valley Fever) - Yay! But the pulmonologist says that the results don't mean anything, because it takes 6-8 weeks for the fungus to register into the blood stream - Boo! He did say that Connor's symptoms sound more like mycoplasma (bacterial pneumonia) - Yay (I think)! And if it is Valley Fever we have most likely seen the worse and he will just have a residual nodule in his lung - Yay! When this first started, Russ said it was most likely pneumonia and I think he was right all along. Connor is 100% better and his rash is gradually going away. I guess we are suppose to take him in for another chest x-ray in eight weeks as a follow up.

On another note, Hayden (who has gone girlfriend-free all through high school) has his first girlfriend. What is the kid thinkin'? He leaves on his mission in less than a year and now he wants to hook up with someone? Actually, she seems to be really sweet. I did ask him if he told her that he was leaving on a two-year mission and he said, "yes". Of course, my next question was how did she react, since she is of a different faith and not familiar with ours. He said she was a little bummed, but encouraged him to go. Hmmmm...Not sure how much he is letting on with me. I guess time will tell and, hopefully, Heavenly Father will hear my prayers that this kid will maintain his focus on his goals (at least, I hope they are still his goals).
