My sweet little boy, Conzo, is now a high school wrestler. (Okay, so he isn't little anymore. He just turned 15 and is almost 6'2".) I never imagined he would have an interest in this sport, but his football coach strongly encouraged the players to wrestle to improve their football skills. Ends up that Conzo really likes it. He had his first meet in Payson on Saturday and wrestled in 4 matches. Since he has never wrestled before, we weren't sure what to expect. Unfortunately, he lost all 4 matches, but wasn't discouraged. The best wrestler on the varsity squad told him to expect to go winless until he had more experience. We sat next to the coach's parents and they said Conzo is really strong and will do well by the end of the season.
Conzo is second from the right...

Oh, the singlet. What else is there to say. But-- Way to go Connor!!
Nice lycra Conzo....
I hope those wrestling mats are MRSA-free.
I'm glad he's wrestling and enjoying it, and I'm also sure that a win is coming up soon for him....but those pictures are depressing....what happened to that sweet little boy? Ugh, way to make me feel OLD!!!! ;)
That's so cool! To be honest I can't watch wrestling without chuckling from time to time. That is why I did not request to work very many wrestling matches back in High School.
That's great that he's being involved in all these sports! Yay!
Good luck Conzo--we want to hear about the rest of your season as well. :)
